Web and User Experience Designer (Anywhere)

Posted on 10:31 AM by Nathalie

A foreign company is seeking to hire a Freelance Web Designer and/or User Experience/Interface Designer to work remotely from home.

Freelance - Remote Candidates ONLY

Please, your reply must contain your hourly rate and a portfolio.

About us: We're a young (and completely funded) company located in the Washington DC area developing a suite of websites that will integrate our proprietary geo-location framework with Twitter, Facebook, Flickr etc...

We're looking for one or maybe two talented designers. Our current needs are for a quality web designer and a user interface (user experience) designer. If you can do one or both (well) get in touch with us. Ideally the candidate is someone that will deliver quality, modern web design concepts that have a very strong, forward thinking user interface. This has potential to be a 6 month to a year+ engagement. This is a remote position, we're packed full at our home base right now, but should be expanding soon. That being said, you must be available for conference calls, instant messaging and quick to reply to emails.

Requirements:
SOLID portfolio.
Expert level Photoshop skills.
Understanding of standards-based HTML & CSS concepts.
Web development experience is a huge plus, and although you won't be doing a ton of coding, you need to know how to debug/make minor changes to HTML, PHP and CSS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Bonus:
Mobile web design experience
Adobe Illustrator proficiency
Usability design and testing experience
A good brain for social media and social networking

Contractors only, and again, please include your hourly rate and a portfolio
When applying always keep in mind NOT to include your personal details like your ID no, your bank/credit card details, your full address, your vat no (if applicable), your NI number,  etc. This is a craigslist advert, where you will find various spam as well as genuine work at home jobs, so be safe when applying.
