Staff Writers Required (Anywhere)

Posted on 8:22 AM by Nathalie

GameGrin (www.gamegrin.com) are seeking to recruit additional writers to fuel our expansion and to service our increasing demand for content. We are a well established UK-based website with numerous contacts in the industry and we regularly receive review code.
We have vacancies in ALL areas of the business so encourage applications from everyone, but are particularly interested in recruiting strategy fans and PC gamers.

Staff writers are expected to provide a combination of articles, previews and reviews. WE DO PAY OUR STAFF. However, all new writers with us are required to undertake a (short!) trial period of voluntary working to prove they are reliable and dedicated.

Once entered on the payment books, typical rates are 3 GBP per preview or article and 5 GBP for a substantive review, but these may vary depending on the length and importance of an individual piece. We are also working on introducing a system of bonus payments for frequent contributions and fast turnarounds.

Review copies are provided and will be yours to keep, but bear in mind that reviews will be allocated to staff based on their skills and contributions. We can also arrange appointments for staff to attend press events and will cover travel expenses.

As a UK-based website, good knowledge of British English (as opposed to US English) is an advantage - although not essential as all our submissions go through a proofing process before they are published. However, we do hold weekly meetings (via TeamSpeak) and attendance is encouraged so time zones may be a factor.

While the ideal applicant will be able to supply one article, preview or review per week, we will give consideration to writers who wish to contribute less provided this is made clear in the application.
