Website Moderators

Posted on 6:07 PM by Nathalie

Demand Media, which is an American company, need people to review and moderate content during shifts.

We need people to review and moderate content during shifts that will occur overnight (7pm to 7am) and weekends (7pm Friday to 7am Monday) starting in December 2009. Moderators will need to learn and understand site guidelines (which will be provided to you) and review user-submitted comments. Based on the site guidelines, moderators will decide if the comment should be accepted and published on the site, or if it should be deleted. Examples or deleted comments include anything vulgar, inflammatory, or otherwise inappropriate. Moderators will receive training and will work remotely from their home. Length of shifts have yet to be decided, but we will need to ensure that we are covering all hours expected. Pay is hourly and will be based on previous experience and background.

Requirements:
• Computer and internet connection
• Comfortable with websites and social media
• Ability to read and judge content based on provided guidelines
• Ability to manage your time
• Self-discipline and responsibility to work your entire assigned shift

I'm not sure whether they are looking for overseas candidates but when I checked their application form, Malta was listed and can be chosen. You can also only fill fields with a red asterisk. The advantage of late night hrs are that they would be mornings for us.
