TutorGroup hires experienced teachers to teach online according to your schedule, in the convenience of your home or office!

A teaching position with TutorGroup offers distinct advantages and challenges when compared to those of an ordinary ESL teaching job. We feature small classes of one to six highly motivated adult students. Our students usually have professional backgrounds and wish to improve their English skills to increase their competitiveness in the marketplace. We therefore encourage teachers to provide a professional and energetic learning environment in our virtual classrooms.

Our teaching methods focus on strengthening the student's conversational and listening abilities through discussion practice and question/answer exercises. Students are evaluated and assigned a skill level so that learners of similar abilities will be placed in the same class. TutorGroup provides lesson plans from an extensive database, automatically selected for each class according to the skill level, backgrounds and interests of the students in class.Teachers are required to teach a minimum of 15 classes per week (45 min/class). Teachers can select teaching times to fit their own schedules.

Consultants are paid a base rate for each class attended and taught. Base rates are determined by experience and other qualifications. Additionally, there is the opportunity to earn bonuses based upon both the number of students in a class and the ratings awarded consultants in the students' class feedback.

Energetic and professional personality
Four-year college or university degree
Previous ESL teaching experience (preferred)
Previous working experience in other fields
Teaching availability suitable to TutorABC/TutorABC Jr. schedule
Familiarity with using computers
Ability to SPEAK SLOWLY and explain things to people who can't speak ENGLISH!

Technical requirements:
Desktop/Laptop PC：1 GHz processor or higher
Windows OS：7, Vista, XP (Macs with Windows OS installed)
Internet Explorer Browser: Version 7 or greater
RAM：512MB or more
Minimum 512kps upload wired internet connection: DSL, Cable, Fiber Optic
Webcam：Either built-in or high quality Creative, Logitech or comparable
Headset (Headphone with microphone set)
Every session you teach must be treated as if you're teaching a regular class. Therefore, audio and visual distraction must not interfere with the quality of the sessions.
